i became obsessed with the idea of farming recently when i got sick of living in the city and i decided that i wanted to step back, take a breather and do something simple and beautiful.
i wanted to get back to the root of things and learn how to grow things. i wanted to live a healthier/happier life. in theory i really just want to be able to grow my own food on my own little farm with my own little house and my own little family. i don’t want to eat anything processed or fake anymore.

i loved the work. i sweated my ass off in the summer doing manual labor. i spent hours weeding. it was so gratifying and so much fun. i also got to eat really yummy food. it is unbelievable how good things taste when you pull them out of the ground. AMAZING!
anyway, i decided i wanted to continue working on farms, but i wanted to incorporate travel into the mix…
yesterday i spent most of my day g-chatting with miss emma. my partner in crime. we are planning a trip to italy/europe in the very near future. we will be wwoofing there. for those of you who don’t know it’s organic farming. go here to find out more! www.wwoofing.org
we will live and eat in exchange for our work on the farm. sounds scary to some. not us. we cant wait to make wine and cheese in places that look like this:
we decided on a few places that we must see- capri, venice and the alps. emma is italian and speaks it a little. she will be my translator. she has been there many times and has family/friends there. we will hopefully be in europe for at least 3 months.
the list of farms we have received is 75 pages long! and that is just italy! endless opportunities! and so much to think about/consider. it is sort of overwhelming. luckily i have a lot of time on my hands. so i made a map and key and organized the whole list. now we just have to pick!
mostly we just need more money and then we can go. we are trying to think of all possible ways to make money. we will do just about anything. my obamabucks just ran out so i need to consider getting a job. money sucks. we hate it and just want to go to italy. if you know anyone who is looking to get rid of some cash, let me know!!
